Unpack Distribution
Unpack the distribution in your home directory or in a location where it may be shared with other users of your system ( ie. /usr/local/ ).
Read the instructions
Basic documentation is provided in readme.txt.
Run config.pl
In genePI.pl, genePI_for_svm.pl, scale.pl and gist_classify_genePI.pl paths need to be changed according to the directory you have saved the files in by running config.pl. Make sure that Gist and RepeatMasker are properly installed and that their paths are also correct!
Run the example files
Two example files (example1.fasta and example2.fasta) are provided in the /input directory. Run them in order to make sure that genePI was correctly installed. If problems occur, recheck all the paths.
